Avocado

The avocado is the fruit of the avocado tree, which originated in Mexico, where it is still mainly grown today. It is grown mainly in tropical climates, although some varieties are adapted to colder climates, such as Spain and Corsica. It takes 4 to 6 years to harvest the first fruits, which, contrary to what you might think, do not consist of a stone but of a large seed. What makes the avocado so special is that it only begins to ripen once it has been picked.

From fruit to avocado oil

Virgin avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the fruit. Around 10kg of avocados are needed to produce 1L of virgin oil.
